Ethel’s Fancy is looking for a motivated and energetic lead bartender to join its team!

We are a fine casual restaurant in downtown Palo Alto, bringing a fun, interactive, and inventive dining experience to the Peninsula. Our bar is the focal point for the dining room, and often is a gathering place for locals and visitors in for a drink with friends or a full meal.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests seated at the bar as well as fulfilling orders placed by the serving staff. They must maintain consistent cleanliness of their station as well as ensuring the bar is presentable at all times. In addition to learning our cocktail menu, this individual will be part of the collaborative nature of our business in developing new cocktails. This is will be an integral part of the position, and the person will be responsible for prepping some of the ingredients for cocktails.

What we are looking for:

A warm, positive, and friendly individual with a strong passion and willingness to learn about our food and beverage program; someone who enjoys talking to guests, and can easily make regulars with an engaging and friendly demeanor. Cleanliness and good organizational skills is a must! This individual should have an understanding of classical drinks and how to assemble them.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years prior cocktail bartending experience

Current California Food Handlers Card or completion within 2 weeks of employment.

Must be able to stand, walk, lift, serve for an extended period of time

Must be 21 years of age or older to apply. Must complete RBS certification within 2 weeks of employment.

Must be available to work 5 shifts a week.
