Protégé seeks a motivated full-time morning pastry production cook to join our brigade.
We're a Michelin-starred, upscale-casual restaurant located in Palo Alto. Our culture fosters genuine hospitality, professional growth, and we place enormous value on teamwork, professionalism and personal respect.
This role involves working directly alongside pastry chef, Emma Alden, to produce an ambitious assortment of breads and sweets for our seasonally driven a la carte and 7-course tasting menus. As such, a commanding knowledge of sourdough bread baking, ice cream and sorbet production, tart and pie doughs, etc. is encouraged. This position is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work efficiently while maintaining high standards and a clean workspace.
Early morning availability is required. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of professional kitchen experience, but as our name implies, we're looking for individuals who we can mentor and help to reach their full potential. A passion for learning and the desire to grow is essential! We are looking for a positive attitude, desire to learn, passion fro our craft and a sense or urgency-we can teach you the rest!
