Lazy Bear is currently looking for a Commis and a Chef de Partie for our ever expanding kitchen. We are a 2 Michelin Star Restaurant serving modern American cuisine, and utilizing seasonal and high quality market ingredients. We are interested in people with passion, integrity, and the desire to not only help us achieve a high level of cuisine but to also push the level of our creativity, experimentation, and standards on a daily basis.


Qualified candidates should have a minimum 2 years of experience in a fine dining kitchen, with some Michelin background preferred. We're looking for career-minded individuals that can grow with us. We expect great attitudes, personal integrity, attention to detail, dedication to cleanliness, strong organization, and a team mentality.

Requirements

  • Significant cooking experience
  • Great attitudes, dedication to cleanliness, strong organization, loyalty, and a team mentality.
  • California Food Handler Certification
  • References from a previous manager/chef preferred

Job Duties Include but not Limited to:

  • Intake and putting away deliveries
  • Light butchering/fabrication of proteins
  • Setting up the kitchen and its stations
  • Prepping mise en place and making kits for recipes
  • Making stocks and sauce bases
  • Detailed veg prep and groundwork for larger preservation projects
  • Maintaining a clean, organized and sanitary work environment at all times
  • Executing dishes for service

We offer highly competitive market pay of up to $23 per hour for Commis and $25 per hour for Chef de Partie based upon experience. We also offer health benefits after 90 days, and opportunities to learn directly from the farms, ranches, wineries and breweries that provide us with all of our ingredients and beverages. All cooks WILL be paid for ALL hours worked. A typical work week consists of 50+ hours.
