Do you want to live on an island paradise only 2 hours from NYC? Do you want to start your own bakery - in a truck? Do you have experience with restaurant pastry production and a strong knowledge of natural fermentation? Léon, a new year-round open hearth restaurant on Shelter Island, is hiring a Head Baker to join our team!

Succesful candidates will:
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in bakery and/or restaurant kitchen management, pastry experience is a plus
- Have deep knowledge of natural fermentation
- Have experience running a monthly inventory
- Bring detail and care to their work while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Be a self-starter who is focused, energetic, and communicative
- Be committed to working as part of a team
- Be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

- Have open availability

While performing the duties of the job, the Head Baker is regularly required to stand and walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
