We are seeking a Chef to join the team for our new health-centric, fast-casual restaurant! This is an amazing opportunity to be part of a well-funded and locally owned concept in the heart of an upscale neighborhood. We are seeking someone that is passionate about organic, sustainable and/or biodynamic foods.You will thrive in a fast-paced environment and dedicate time to expanding our clientele base to establish the restaurant's brand and reputation. Our aim is to serve quality food in a relaxed environment. As a Chef you will have exceptional leadership skills-and work closely with management in creating seasonal menus. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chef looking to input creative ideas that support sustainable sourcing, clean ingredients and scratch cooking.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations
  • Coordinate food and kitchen orders
  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients
  • Assist in the development of menu items
  • Standardize recipes and plate presentations
  • Work with management to create a memorable experience for guests
  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
  • Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortage
  • Be fully in charge of hiring, managing and training kitchen staff
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between coworkers
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Culinary science or related certificate
  • Proven experience as a chef in a leadership role (8+ years preferable )
  • Knowledge of cost and labor systems
  • Passion for sustainable/organic/biodynamic food and cooking techniques
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional, proven ability of kitchen management
  • Previous experience managing cost controls
  • Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills
  • Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
  • Credentials in health and safety training
