Chef Barbara Lynch’s award winning neighborhood wine bar and butcher shop is seeking a warm, dynamic, and passionate leader to join our management team. The role of General Manager is to articulate, facilitate and actualize the front of house vision for The Butcher Shop, with guidance and support from the Top Team. This position reports directly to the Service + Hospitality Director, and works in conjunction with the Chef de Cuisine of the restaurant. The General Manager oversees a front of house management team comprised of two managers and a service staff of 10.
In this role, the General Manager is expected to:
• Attract, inspire, and retain a team of managers and service staff through hiring, training, educating, reviewing and disciplining.
• Cultivate an educational and enriching environment for Managers, Staff, and Guests. Empower the team to create captivating moments of hospitality for guests.
• Embody Barbara Lynch Collective's philosophy of hospitality and approach to service in all interactions with colleagues, guests, and the extended community of The Butcher Shop.
• Foster & develop relationships with residents and local business through active community involvement and awareness.
• Responsible for the financial well-being of the restaurant. Deliver on budget, evaluate marginal costs, capital expenditures and all operating expenses to improve on efficiency, while enhancing the integrity of the operation.
Qualified candidates should have a minimum 3 years management restaurant experience and have a solid understanding of restaurant financials. Ideal candidates will have an exceedingly strong work ethic and an ability to inspire the same in others. They will be passionate about all aspects of hospitality and restaurant culture, recognize the importance of profitability and efficiency in achieving goals, be self-aware and conscious of how they are perceived, display a high level of empathy and social skills, derive joy from learning and teaching and enjoy creating positive, respectful, and effective relationships.
