Five Acres is opening in the heart of Rockefeller Center, Greg Baxtrom's new addition to the Olmsted, Maison Yaki, Patti Ann’s family and his first venture in Manhattan!
Rockefeller Fine Dining with the approchability of a Brooklyn neighborhood restaurant.

We are looking for a full time barista (4-5 shifts per week including Saturday and Sunday) averaging 35-40 hours with a passion for specialty coffee and a focus on hospitality to join our team at Five Acres. Five Acres is Chef Greg Baxtrom's new addition to the Olmsted, Maison Yaki, Patti Ann’s family and his first venture in Manhattan.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of specialty coffee / tea
  • Properly prepare all beverages to the highest standards
  • Must understand all the machines used during coffee service including the grinders, percolators and espresso machine and maintain these machines to spec
  • Dial in drip coffee and espresso machine
  • Foam milk correctly
  • Maintain cleanliness and always restock equipment as needed.
  • Ability to multitask in high-volume service
  • Proficient use of POS functions
  • Cash handling and communication skills with management done with utmost professionalism.
  • DOH Food Protection Certificate a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills and eager and positive
  • Able to work early mornings and weekends which will be required with this role.
  • Committed to incredible teamwork, able to balance team and individual responsibilities.

Additional requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/move up to 10lbs, frequently lift/move up to 25lbs, and occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously

Compensation Details:

  • Compensation: Hourly (Based on Experience) plus tips

Our approach is informed by the fine-dining schools from which Chef Greg Baxtrom and our team have learned, but is casual and approachable.

Chef Greg Baxtrom’s first restaurant Olmsted was a James Beard Awards Finalist for Best New Restaurant in 2017. The owners started the NYC Hospitality Coalition, a food bank for those impacted by COVID-19, and the Black Entrepreneur Series pop-up in the space of Maison Yaki (our sister restaurant) this year.
