Employee relations is an essential element of the broader employee experience, as a function dedicated to fostering a positive, trusting, and productive work environment. The Employee Relations Specialist position will be instrumental in providing day-to-day support to employees and leaders on both an individual and group level. This position will report into the Senior Manager, Employee Relations.
What you'll do:
- Act as a resource to employees and managers to interpret company policies and procedures
- Document and maintain accurate records of employee relations cases, including investigation reports, disciplinary actions, and employee conversations
- Support performance management by collaborating with managers to address performance-related issues and provide guidance on disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans
- Manage reasonable accommodation requests, outcomes, and recertifications
- Liaise with our leave of absence administrator on LOA related employee issues
- Provide counseling and guidance to employees and managers on various employment-related issues, including grievances, performance concerns, conflict resolution, and separations.
- Manage directional inquiries by pointing leaders to relevant policies, internal resources, and redirecting cases as needed.
- Review medical documentation (e.g., faxes from providers) to ensure alignment between the physician's recommendations and the employee’s accommodation request.
- Handle low-risk employee relations cases, such as attendance issues and written warning reviews; ensure accurate documentation and appropriate policy application.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 3+ years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or a related field; technology and contact center experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
- Foundational knowledge of employee and labor relations, and state and federal employment laws
- Experience with accommodation or leave case management
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to establish trust, effectively coach and counsel employees, and facilitate difficult conversations
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, with a focus on finding equitable solutions for all parties involved
- To be a self-starter that thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism and confidentiality
Pay Transparency Statement
This is a hybrid position based out of one of our offices: Plano, TX, or Lehi, UT. Hybrid employees are expected to be in the office three days per week (Plano, TX) or two days per week (Lehi, UT). #LI-hybrid
The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the hourly rate, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
