What you’ll do:
As a Software Engineer II, Mobile, you will be responsible for delivering performant, delightful user-facing experiences into our iOS and Android applications, meant to engage our customers and help them on their journey towards healthy living. You will be a crucial member of the team building our Flagship Mobile Applications, and a critical contributor to projects directly impacting the future of Care/of. You will:
- Build delightful experiences for our customers and impact revenue by writing high-quality and well-tested software from inception to execution to deployment
- Iterate quickly by minimizing the scope of work and delivering with the most appropriate solution
- Work in various levels of the Mobile UI Development stack
- Collaborate closely with the other Engineers on our team across all disciplines, as well as with our partners in Product Design and Product Management
- Contribute to our overall coding standards, JavaScript or otherwise, and learn from and give back to the Engineering Organization
Who you are:
As someone on the team, you should be comfortable working in modern JavaScript, and not be afraid of digging into our evolving React Native application. You should be comfortable with understanding (or gaining an understanding of) how complex RESTful software systems operate, though your primary focus will be our Mobile application codebase.
- 2+ years of experience writing high-quality software from inception to execution to deployment
- Fluent writing code in JavaScript
- Understanding of the core building blocks of a mobile application, persistence, API integration, immutability, screen navigation, integration with native modules, etc.
- Excited about the ways in which digital products can improve the lives of others
- Empathetic and respectful toward your teammates and the consumers of the products you create
- Comfortable partnering and collaborating with team members from Product and Design
- A team player who is interested in being part of a highly-functioning team whose success you value over individual achievements
- Appetite to learn new technologies and keep up with the evolving industry
Nice to Have (preferred, but not required):
- Motivated to bring new things into the world – your work is your craft
- Familiarity with Bitrise, Codepush and other comparable mobile CI/CD tools/technologies
- Experience working with Apple HeatlhKit and Google Fit, and connecting them to React Native
- Experience with writing native Swift extensions with WatchKit and WidgetKit, and their integration with React Native.

Where you’ll be:

You will spend your time working in a hybrid working environment. You will be expected to work onsite at our Brooklyn, NY based office 2-3x/month with the option to work remotely the remainder of the time.
Salary & Bonus:
NYC Metro-Area Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000*
Role Level: 2
Your compensation for this role will be based on how your experience aligns with our internal role-leveling, and our internal pay equity standards. You will be eligible to participate in our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP) which is a cash bonus. Our AIP rewards the achievement of both annual company and annual individual performance objectives. Each employee’s target opportunity for an annual incentive award is a percentage of base salary and varies per role level.*We have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
