Job Summary

The Senior Copywriter, Customer Servicing Communications, is responsible for creating and maintaining a consistent voice, tone, and style aligned with our brand guidelines. This role involves crafting and editing customer servicing content across various channels, ensuring clarity, compliance, and engagement. The primary duty is to simplify complex financial details for customers, making them easily understandable and relevant. Additionally, the role includes developing strategic communication plans for company initiatives, identifying the message's purpose, audience, timing, and delivery method. The Copywriter's efforts aim to provide meaningful and positive experiences for both customers and servicing associates through effective communications.


Essential Job Functions
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with superior ability to synthesize information and compose clear, concise, compelling, consistent and accurate messages for designated modes of communication. Effectively communicate and present to senior leadership with accomplished storytelling, proactively build trust, and maintain strong cross-functional collaborative relationships. - (40%)
  • Process communication requests, vet them for veracity and timeline deliverable commitments. Compose and edit core servicing and crossover servicing-marketing communications, delivering on self-service adoption strategies. Develop message strategies for various vehicles, including SMS text, email, print, digital, social media, video, and call center scripts. - (30%)
  • Identify gaps and flaws, recommend solutions; ensure regulatory compliance through governance. Develop clear content by adhering to communication brand standards via editorial oversight and quality control. Measure the impact of customer communications on cost savings or revenue to the Profit and Loss. - (20%)
  • Key driver of ideation, development, and execution of communication initiatives to boost customer experience. Identify and lead opportunities for proactive and reactive service communication. Develop customer-facing and internal communications, including SMS texts, email, print, web, video, and audio collateral. Support communication plans and content for large-scale projects. - (10%)

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years experience developing written content and executing communication plans and strategies in a professional setting.
  • Work samples that demonstrate a range of writing styles (e.g., SMS text messages, intranet content, business blogs, social media posts, news stories, newsletters, periodical pieces, radio, video and TV scripts, technical documents, and direct marketing).

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, journalism, electronic and digital media, public relations, technical communication.
  • 8+ years experience developing written content and executing communication plans and strategies in a professional setting.
  • Experience in servicing or marketing communication, financial services messaging, news journalism, digital messaging, public relations, business communications, marketing strategy, media or agency experience.

Work Environment
  • Normal office environment. (Remote or Hybrid), 3 to 4 days per month are required in office if within 60 miles of a posted Bread Financial location.

Salary Range (unless otherwise noted below):

$79,500.00 - $144,100.00

Full Salary Range for position:

California: $91,500.00 - $180,100.00

Colorado: $79,500.00 - $151,300.00

New York: $87,500.00 - $180,100.00

Washington: $83,500.00 - $165,700.00

Maryland: $83,500.00 - $158,500.00

Washington DC: $91,500.00 - $165,700.00

Illinois: $79,500.00 - $158,500.00

New Jersey: $91,500.00 - $165,700.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
