Job Summary

The Specialist leads design and process improvement projects to transform processes across the enterprise by providing process design and control savviness to each project. The Specialist serves as a transformation quality leader for projects. The Specialist partners with the FLOD and SLOD to determine the full scope of the business process transformation by anticipating the long-term needs of the unique business process while ensuring consistency in approach to achieve holistic quality within the business process. The Specialist will execute and maintain the strategy around our post-design strategy (e.g. procedural development, business/system requirement identification, long-term roadmaps), partner with business leadership to ensure holistic and consistent identification of key improvement objectives, and support transformation plan development and execution. Through process transformation, the Specialist leads change management to enable the business to prepare, manage and reinforce the changes a part of their unique transformation plan.


Essential Job Functions

  • Business Relationships - Develops and fosters strong working relationships with business process owners and performers. Partners with project stakeholders and sponsors to determine process transformation objectives and targeted outcomes for each project. Proactively builds professional network.
  • Project Management - Leads large scale process design and process improvement projects from intake through implementation. Applies a range of process design/redesign and improvement techniques, drives process mapping, applies change management techniques, and measures project benefits. Analyzes process related metrics and data (Issues, KPIs, Operational Losses, Control Testing Results) to provide targeted process improvement recommendations based on data driven decisions. Vets initial business requests as determined by Leader to recommend to pursue projects.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment, some travel may be required (not typical).
  • This position is hybrid with an onsite schedule of 3-4 days per month. In-office requirements are subject to change based on business needs. This position is currently available to candidates that reside within 60 miles of Columbus, OH

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience in Process or Control Design/Improvement, Process or Risk Advisory, Operational Excellence, Process or Risk Assurance, Quality

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Operations Management, Management Information Systems, Accounting or related field
  • Five or more years of experience with Process or Control Design/Improvement, Process or Risk Advisory, Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Process or Risk Assurance, Quality, Lean/Six Sigma, Project Management, Change Management

Typical Starting Range:

$79,500.00 - $144,100.00

Full Salary Range for position:

California: $91,500.00 - $180,100.00

Colorado: $79,500.00 - $151,300.00

New York: $87,500.00 - $180,100.00

Washington: $83,500.00 - $165,700.00

Maryland: $83,500.00 - $151,300.00

Washington DC: $91,500.00 - $165,700.00

The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.

Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.

All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.

Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
