ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and visionary VP of Product who will lead our product management team and take ownership of our flagship API-driven policy administration system. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligning it with the company's goals and market trends. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, underwriting, sales, marketing, and customer success, to ensure the successful execution and commercialization of our products. This role will lead a fast-paced, agile, cross-functional team to test and launch new products and experiences, and leverage and build new partnerships. This is a high impact leadership position reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer and you will build and foster a culture of excellence and accountability capable of producing best-in-class products with a focus on teamwork, accountability, and quality.

ABOUT YOU

You are a passionate, highly analytical, detail-oriented, and naturally curious individual with a solid understanding of insurance products. In addition to these qualities, you possess expertise in market research, client engagement, and strategic thinking. With your ability to delve into customer needs, analyze market trends, and communicate effectively, you craft tailored insurance offerings. Your proficiency in strategy development, team leadership, and execution enables you to build comprehensive plans and roadmaps that align with organizational goals. Through your meticulous approach and attention to detail, you ensure successful implementation and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Product Strategy and Vision:

  • Develop and communicate a compelling product vision that aligns with the company's overall strategic goals.

  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback analysis to identify market trends, customer needs, and potential product enhancements.

  • Define and refine the product roadmap, prioritizing features and enhancements based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility.

Product Development and Delivery:

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to define and deliver a scalable and robust API-driven policy administration system that meets customer requirements.

  • Develop quarterly and annual product roadmaps.

  • Drive the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.

  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging the team to explore new technologies and approaches to product development.

  • Identify opportunities to improve overall customer experience across many touch points.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies, positioning, and pricing for new products and features.

  • Collaborate with customer success and support teams to gather customer feedback, understand pain points, and identify opportunities for product improvement.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and effectively communicate product plans, progress, and results to the executive team and other relevant stakeholders.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide strong leadership to the product management team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing product management team, promoting professional growth and ensuring a diverse and inclusive work environment.

  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team, and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.

SKILLS + QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven track record of at least 8-10 years in product management roles, preferably within the P&C insurtech, P&C insurance, or fintech industry.

  • Extensive experience in building and delivering API-driven software products, ideally within the policy administration systems domain.

  • Strong understanding of B2B software product lifecycle, from product strategy to development, launch, and post-launch support.

  • Demonstrated success in driving product strategy, defining product roadmaps, and executing on product plans in a fast-paced, agile environment.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability and desire to get into the weeds and solve operational day-to-day issues.

COMPENSATION + BENEFITS

  • The pay range is estimated to be between $180,000.00 - $ 205,000.00 USD per year.

    • When determining the wage range for this role, several factors are considered, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure & certifications, and other business needs. Geographic differentials associated with the location where the position may be filled have not been adjusted in the disclosed range estimate. It is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, each case is analyzed appropriately.

  • Equity commensurate with experience (everyone is an owner!)

    • Only employee - $1k

    • Employee + 1 dependent (spouse or children) - $1.25k

    • Employee + family - $1.5k

    • If you waive this Medical benefit as you can receive it elsewhere, Boost contributes $350 per month to help you pay for it!
