Bustle Digital Group is seeking a talented and creative Photo Intern to join our editorial photo team this summer. The editorial photo team at BDG works across our four lifestyle brands, which include Bustle, Elite Daily, The Zoe Report, and NYLON.
The ideal candidate will have a Photo/art-related experience, a degree, or be in their final year of school. We are looking for someone passionate about editorial photography, digital storytelling, and photo production. The photo intern will support our Senior VP of Creative, Photo Director, and Senior Producer in the production of photoshoots, researching contributors and vendors, participating in creative brainstorms, and overall shoot organization and project management.
BDG’s 2026 Internship Program is an exciting opportunity to get hands-on experience at one of the fastest-growing digital media companies today. Our immersive program gives each intern the chance to explore and develop their interests through executive mentorship, career training, professional development seminars and workshops, collaborative projects, off-site events, and more.
This is a paid, part-time opportunity beginning June 1, 2026, and runs through August 7, 2026. Candidates should be available to work up to 25 hours per week, and will be given the choice to work either remotely or from BDG’s New York City HQ office, depending on their role.
*Interested candidates must be able to work in the office weekly on Tuesdays.
Responsibilities
- Assist the art director and producer in carrying out photo shoots across all 4 lifestyle brands at BDG
- Support the team in pre-production, production, and post-production workflows
- Assist with post-production and asset processing (organizing files, exporting, resizing)
- Administrative and clerical duties, such as organizing receipts/invoices
- Assist in researching photographers, set designers, and creative talents to update the internal roster
- Assist in organizing a vendor and creative collaborator database (including locations, studios, prop stylists)
- Work with the art director to pull visual references and build creative concepts for upcoming photo shoots
- Assist the Production team on set (various locations or studio throughout the NYC area) if the schedule allows
- Transport production supplies, crafty, props from vendors to and from set via booked cars
Requirements
- Must be able to be in the office weekly on Tuesdays
- Photo/Art or related experience, degree, or be in the last year of pursuing a degree in Photo/Art related subjects (e.g., Photography, Art History, Art & Design, Fine Arts)
- Strong proficiency with Mac OS, Excel, Adobe Photoshop & InDesign, Google Workspace, Monday, Slack, Canva
- Creative sensibility with an interest in photography and fashion/beauty/celebrity editorial
- Creative problem solver, good communication and collaboration skills
