Position Summary:
In this hands-on role, the Quality Engineer will lead all aspects of product quality, providing technical direction for incoming and in-process inspections, leading root cause investigations, preparing deviations, waivers, and corrective action reports, and driving non conformance and problem reports to closure.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for planning, directing, and reporting on all quality-related activities to ensure fulfillment of requirements while interfacing with management, customers, subcontractors, and suppliers. Daily tasks will include:
Responsibilities:
Summarize and analyze incoming, in-process, and final inspection data and use data to prioritize QA actions and efforts
Coordinate exchange of QA information between suppliers, subcontractors, and Revolution Space
Investigate internally generated, subcontractor, or vendor-caused deficiencies, report findings to the Material Review Board (MRB), close the loop on failures by performing root cause analyses, creating corrective action plans, and driving plans to closure
Provide technical direction to the inspection team
Maturing our quality processes as we move from development to production, finding the balance between best practices and practical application.
Potential occasional travel to supplier sites for quality audits (Infrequent, <20% time)

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
5+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering with a minimum of 2 years in a regulated environment preferred (aerospace, medical, automotive, etc.)
Thorough knowledge of drawing Interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
Previous hands-on experience with troubleshooting and root cause investigation of nonconformances in electro-mechanical assemblies (5-Whys, fishbone diagrams, etc.)
Familiarity with a variety of manufacturing processes, such as machining of metals and thermoplastics
Confidence in leading technical conversations relating to quality issues
Strong team player with excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Experience with standard inspection equipment and techniques such as CMM, height gages, calipers/micrometers, go/no-go gauges, etc.
Proficiency in relevant computer applications
Preferred:
8-12 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, and/or Engineering with a minimum of 2 years in a regulated environment preferred (aerospace, medical, automotive, etc.)
Experience with a PLM system and QC management software (Arena would be ideal but any a PLM and/or quality management software is a plus)
Familiarity with J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610
Experience with ISO9001 or AS9100
Experience with engineered materials such as ceramics, thermoplastics, and semiconductor materials
Experience with FOD prevention, contamination-sensitive hardware, or cleanroom protocols
Experience performing inspections using microscopes or other non-contact visual inspection systems (Keyence, FARO, etc.)
Familiarity with PCBA and cable harness fab, assembly, and test
Familiarity with MEMS fabrication
