About This Position
Accion Systems is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help codify fabrication and assembly processes, develop manufacturing improvements, maintain vendor relationships, and help set Accion up for future manufacturing growth. This role will work with both Technicians and Engineers to support the development of manufacturing processes and establish repeatable processes that can meet quality, cost, and customer requirements. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for monitoring internal and external quality as well as assisting in qualification plans.
The Manufacturing Engineer will:
-Be responsible for process qualification, quality, and supplier development aspects of our propulsion technology during product and process development cycles
-Develop internal manufacturing processes, procedures, and product flows in conjunction with R&D/Design Engineers and Assembly Technicians
-Perform First Article Inspection and Qualification of vendor supplied parts
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to work cross-functionally across our design, materials, and assembly teams to execute against production targets.
The position is full-time and based on-site in Boston, with some remote work flexibility.
Ideally You Have…
-At least 5 years of experience working in a hands-on, lean manufacturing environment
-Technical aptitude in manufacturing processes and methods, including operating and maintaining production equipment and working in a clean room environment
-Fluency with integration of complex electro-mechanical assemblies in Aerospace or similar industry
-Fluency in supplier quality management, with strong orientation towards attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills
-Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards, and knowledge of IPC Standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, J-STD-001)
-Experience implementing the Foreign Object Debris (FOD) management program
-Experience handling parts with electro-static discharge
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup environment under tight deadlines
-B.S. in Manufacturing/Materials/Chemical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
